The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The all girls room I stayed in had a cute balcony with a great view of the corso. Very close to the beach and the people I met were very friendly.

if we hadn't paid in advance for a week, we would not have stayed here beyond one night. Our first night was in a room next to the place where everyone goes for a cheeky fag/spliff/vomit/sexual encounter. Various people did this all night as we tried to sleep. Classy it aint! Luckily, the next night we were in a double room with a balcony. Sadly it was next door to a dorm room whose inhabitants played loud music all night despite a notice saying no noise after midnight.
The room was very hot but we had a fan that sort of worked. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. one night, i caught a couple having sex and in the morning three used condoms were left on the floor. They were there for the next two days, along with a loo blocked with toilet paper and other sanitary products. When the bathrooms were cleaned - every third day or so, they were useable, but not for very long. The kitchen was worse. used pots and pans were left around for a day or two, minimal utensils and we were told that the fridge was too full and everyone stole other peoples food anyway... the two huge wheelie bins took up a lot of space and stank. A kitchen should not stink like garbage.
Overall, if you want to party 24/7 and don't care about cleanliness and want to live worse than an animal, stay here. Even a dog will bury his shit. These disgusting individuals don't even attempt to be clean and as they are also the staff, there is no hope that anything will change soon.

My home for the time being

I use the term home loosely. It was dirty and felt like I had walked into a loud weather spoons back home. Although I was made very welcome, probably because I was a female. But nevertheless I met many amazing people there, and had so much crazy fun.

Met many lovely people here, but not the best place to stay if your working, also very expensive- $220 a week for 6 people in a very small room.

Room was not cleaned frequently; no fans, no outside window and this place was incredibly hot in spring, let alone in summer.

There was also not enough lockers for people and also nowhere for luggage. Probably one of the worse places I have stated for a while.

    Couldn't fault the entertainment though.

‘7 miles from Sydney and 1000 miles from care’ is the slogan used by a Manly Steamship Company back in the 4o’s.
Manly was an unexpected surprise, Bondi Beach was a well known tourist destination and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought and I had never heard on Manly before so I didn’t get my hopes too high. …

So here we are in Sydney. The weather is sunny and warm for the most part, and as much as we're missing Fiji already, it's a relief not to be in quite so much humidity. We spent our first night in a funky little suburb called Stanmore, dined on Greek food (as you do), had a rest, a wash and cleaned our clothes - ahhh that's better!

I'm now on my first day in Melbourne and I've been a bit lazy at updating my blog in Manly I was too busy enjoying the sunshine and scenery. I think all men should live the Aussie way or maybe it's because I was by the beach surrounded by active people. Seriously do they all eat nothing and work out to get that figure or is it just the surfing that …
