... fell right in our price range. A little black, 100cc scooter with a basket on the front! What more could a guy want?! Venom, I named it (after the bad guy on Spider Man - for anyone who didn't immediately pick up the reference!) and it lives up to its namesake so far! He was going to sort out all the paperwork and check over it one last time, and then we were due to pick it up a couple of hours later. So we returned, helmets in hand, excited about collecting the "new ...

      First Week of Teaching!

Ominously, Monday was upon us. Somehow we had finished all of our training, and the day had come for us to actually "teach" pupils...makes you more nervous than you actually think!
We both had to go to my branch at Chong Xue for 1:30 for 'Staff Training'. Which pretty much entailed our Head Teachers going over a lot of policies employed at the branches, filling us in on certain special situation in classes, giving us hints and tips, and answering any questions we had! We ...

... t know who Confucius was until I had been to the temple! (I'd heard of the guy, but no idea what he was special for!) so it was also an educational day out! Turns out he was only like regarded as the greatest teacher in ancient China...so no biggie. He incorporated religion, teachings, dance, music and various other things, whilst also opening out and offering education to all levels of people, not only the rich nobility. He was well known as a wise teacher, with a vast ...

I arrived in Tainan after a rather stressful journey from Caotun. There is no direct bus from Caotun to Tainan so I had the transfer through Taichung. The bus ride to Taichung was a pain because I didn't know exactly where the bus would stop in Taichung, and when it finally got to the train station it was not the train station with the high speed rail (HSR)! However, when I got to the HSR ...
