... 3.5 million Jews in Poland before the war. One out of every four Jews were killed during the WWII.

Poland has the oldest Jewish synagogues. Women sat on one side, and the men sat on the other side. The synagogues were also schools. The Rabbi did not want the men to be distracted because the men had to learn, so the men were not allowed to sit with the women.
Communism ended in Poland in late 1989. The state is starting to grow. They are very proud of their accomplishments.

And a bar dedicated to nothing but every type of vodka is probably the best place to start your orientation to polish vodka. A quaint little bar at the end of a cobbled stoned street is where you will find a bar called "vodka". It's aptly named. ... Peter near the statue in the centre of the square. Surprised everyone went on the tour with John, a big chap originally from Tampa, Florida. He moved sites around in the schedule but a full 3H plus tour. He was vocal about his views, bagging the castle and utterly slamming Oscar Schindler of Schindler's List fame as someone hardly altruistic.

The salt mine itself was really cool. The mine has been used for 800 years. The great Polish Kinds were rich during the middle ages because of the value of the salt which the mine was producing. The tour started by walking down about 60 flights of steps deep into the mine. We saw different caverns and cut out areas of the mine. As we walked down the corridors, we went even deeper ...
