We arrived in Auckland a little dazed and not completely with it - with a lack of energy, we took a minibus right to the door of our hostel...we're getting a little bored of carrying the backpacks and 2 extra bags we've accumulated due to purchases!!
The journey from the airport did take over an hour and half though, due to other people being dropped off in the suburbs - the time did allow us to meet a fellow traveller, Andres, from Buenos Aires. He's been travelling around for about ...

... boat to go past making the tension build even more. As soon as every1 counted down I was flying off that ledge was pretty awesome, ended up with my arms in the water which was a bit of a suprise but all good fun! Backwards was scary hanging backwards over the edge to my surprise there was no countdown he just asked me what i had for breakfast i said nothing and he let go. On the video you can herar him say as i'm falling "you should always have somethign for ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand jammie_traveler... and has a relaxed feel - whether this is the case, who knows at this point! We had the opportunity to chat to a couple of staff from two estate agents to get a bit more information. We even found a property which we quite liked but obviously need to tread carefully before jumping in with two feet! The west coast beaches are not too far away either.

Sunday was spent at the ...

Auckland, North Island, New Zealand nzbo... cool place with good food and even better atmosphere. If you have read our other blog entries about how boring the bars and pubs are...let me tell you, this one was different.

That night we got back to Auckland and stayed at the same hotel we had before. We would glad we got to see our goofy buddy again. Brian and I spent most of the night packing our stuff back into our bags and wondering where all this new stuff we had came from.
Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand unbound... to add - really looking forward to assembling it. The final photos are a selection of our last days -SOB, SOB!! We spent a very happy day in the New Dubai Mall -spot the gorgeous selection of exotic oils -the bottles were just beautiful and hard to make a choice -fragrance/verses bottles!!! Our purchases - (or some of them) looks like we are photographing them to sell on Trademe:):) Marion at our table on the River/dinner cruise -this is the life - I did ...
Auckland, New Zealand mablim... rack. This prompted, deservedly I think, utter hysterics. Brilliant! Rotarua- That morning I said goodbye to Grif, who I had been with for all but a few days in my time in NZ. I was pretty alright, but he was reduced to pitiful sobbing. Poor guy. I spent the day chilling out with a girl called Alex who was the only other person continuing to Rotarua that day. At Rotarua I made dinner with Alex, then watched The Mask with some other people from the hostel. Not too ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand belahanratty... shushed me. Luckily I got off at the right stop, but was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by amazing grape fields. I started walking, and noticed another younger guy was walking near me. We wound up chatting and saying how lost we were, both trying to find Stonyridge, and noticed a young blond girl ahead of us who seemed to know where she was going. When we hit a dead end, she said "I hope you guys ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand dholtze... It was like a child's game where egg-shaped heads pop up at random and you have to hammer them down again! The path back to the jetty took us through New Zealand's lovely 'Pongas" (tree ferns) and silver ferns (one of New Zealand's emblems). After lunch in the grounds of a timber yard (nice wooden benches), we drove North to Whitianga. Once again the scenery was stunning - green rolling ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand dancoughlin... I sat watching the washing go round at the laundrette while Lucy went off to do a few things. She crossed the road on a green light with a couple of kids on scooters who got hit by a car right in front of her. They were dragged down the road by the car, an old lady who jumped a red light but amazingly were OK. Lucy had to stop the old lady going to the kids house where she would have been battered by the huge Maori parents and ...
Auckland, North Island, New Zealand warty007... It's a busy little place, with some really nice bars & restaurants, so we enjoyed a couple of drinks on one of the balconies before continuing our unofficial walking tour by sweeping past some very attractive tall ships.

We took a nice long loop route back to our hostel, getting plenty of views of the iconic Sky Tower on the way.

You can't miss ...
