Everywhere in Sydney seems to be expensive, so this was one of the cheaper options at 32 dollars a night. The social area was good, but also the only area to get the free wifi, so a lot of the time it's just people being quiet and anti-social. The breakfast is included and is all you can eat toast with jam or peanut butter or vegemite. All in all a good location and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Because a lot of people stay there long-term for work, the rooms aren't always the tidiest as the cleaners don't know what is old or left behind, as opposed to new and in use. Internet is also very restricted, even on your own device (no Dropbox allowed etc.)

It has been a while since I had the time, energy, and internet/PC access to give some updates on my travels. As such, I will be posting the updates for Sydney and most of my travels in Morocco simultaneously today (but in separate blog posts for Sydney, Shanghai, Paris, Casablanca, Essaouira, Marrakech, and Fes). I arrived in Sydney from Ayers Rock …

Well, I made it to Sydney! Both of my flights were alright. Interestingly enough, the flight from San Francisco to Sydney was way better then the New York to San Francisco flight. Probably because the middle seat was empty, so me in the window seat and the guy in the aisle seat kinda shared the middle seat for stretching out purposes. I think i …

I arrived in Sydney after my 14 hour flight with lots of movies and had a reverse culture shock! Being able to speak English to people and be driving on the left side of the road was so strange after almost 6 months away. I was really missing South American life already. I used Sydney as a base for getting some rest, catching up on any admin stuff …

So I arrived in one piece-after what seemed like a very very long flight! Hostel seemed nice enough but I felt like I was walking on the moon & wasn't quite sure if I really existed- I was just so spaced out! Tried to sleep-but it turns out that jetlag is really mean, and doesn't want you to sleep. So at 6am I was wide awake and ready for my day to …

After a bit of a delay due to bad weather we arrived into Sydney around noon and checked into our accomodation, Big Hostel, which was a bit more basic than our previous hotels but was clean and comfortable. We were staying in the Surry Hills area of the city, near Central Station, so it was only 10 minutes or so on the bus or a 45 minute walk to …
