Leon, Nicaragua casanova_f... really really slow, digging my feet into the sand and
screaming the whole way (nobody else so much as whimpered). Eventually,
I got the hang of it and started to go faster, and it turned out to be
really fun. But I in no way used the board to its potential. Oh well,
at least I still have all my limbs.
Then it was time for the snowboarders to go. I was at the bottom by the
time I could see them, and Ted was actually doing really well! (Damn

sauce. Of course, I love sauce of all creeds and colors, so I dug it.
They loaded me up with mayo, ketchup, mustard, onions, and hot sauce.
(It was pretty much saucy bread, but for 50 cents each, who can
complain?) This was merely an appetizer for Ted, however, and we went
to a nearby restaurant to fill him up. It was right on the parque
central, and the people watching couldnīt be beat. Neither could the

We had a blast exploring different bars and taking advantage of the dollar beers (Teddy was in heaven) and $10 bottles of rum (canīt say Iīve ever gotten bottle service before last night). After a futile search for late night food, we returned to our hotel. A great time was had by all, though this morning hasnīt been pretty. Happy Halloween!
Leon Nicaragua, León, Nicaragua namaste32... went when full so over an hour to wait! From there an even longer border crossing, pricey too considering I had only been on the country 2 hours, so used a tricycle taxi. The a minibus to Chinandega by which time it was gone 4pm and I was ready to sample a few local beers & flake out.

... concerned by the group of gringos who would have clearly been otherwise out of place at the event. As part of the tour we were on, John was even able to have the chance to watch one match from inside the ring, beside the owner of the complex. In all, we saw about 6-8 fights, but we left before the evening was over. According to the owner, the event can last anywhere from three to nine hours, depending on the number of roosters on a given day.
... not feeling well with a high temperature and the trots (yes again!) and I feared that he would not be able to go on this little adventure, luckily however, his fever broke on Thursday evening and we were onboard the truck to Volcan Cerro Negro early on Friday morning. A bumpy ride out to the volcanoes took about an hour and before we knew it we were being handed our little orange bags which contained our overalls and were also given our boards.

... to bring Devin back to try that. Devin went boarding in Namibia, down the sand dunes, about 2 years ago (I did the 4 wheeling on the sand dunes) so I thought this would be a great addition to his boarding adventures. As we got ready to go our guide told us how to steer the board, a few safety precautions, and the leading world record speeds for the sport (68 KMP for the girls and 81 KMP for the guys).

... br>Penitas. It's an ugly trip through Managua. Managua is a chaotic, ****
hole of a city. It's a shame that this city is the capital as it's a
true representation of Nicaragua. Dr. Val speaks great English so we
have a great conversation about the revolution, Sandanistas, his job,
his niece's wedding, and his life in general. He's a great guy and a
good resource to have here ...
