... the city is like. I bet it is a complex feedback loop, with a slight positive impression at the start relaxing you and allowing you to take the time to experience the next impression in a slightly more happy frame of mind, making it more likely to experience it positively.

Paris struggled from the very start to leave a good impression on me. I think people that come expecting the city to be beautiful will be likely to find it that way. ...

... I also had my Australian sim as well, so I switched to that and tried again. It failed again! I knew I didn't have much credit left on it either, so I recharged it and tried again, success! So I contined to the mall and looked around in all the bag shops. I didn't hear anything back from the boys at all, so I sent another message, still no response. So I decided to put the German sim back in as I knew it had data credit, even if it had no text credit, and sent a message ...

... to keep it's population workable, to help with the war effort. It was chilling to walk down the same road political prisoners had taken, many to their deaths, and to pass through the heavy iron gates into the center of the camp. The gates read "work liberates" in german. It was emotionally exhausting and by the end JD and I were walking the mile back to the station in a type of coma. Our train back to berlin wouldn't arrive for another forty minutes ...

We woke up "under the weather" today from our great time in the beer hall last night. It was not a very fun 6 hour train ride. We loaded up with food and Gatorades and settled in to our seats. It was very overcast and rained most of the trip but we did manage to get some great photos of the country side with all the autumn colors. ... except for the coffee I had that tasted very strange. Got home and then went out to dinner with Mez and James. Wanted German but were in more of a Mediterranean area so settle for something though still not sure of what type of place it was. Pete and I had meaty stews and James and Mez had pasta. After this we went to a pub, watched some soccer and were quickly reminded why no smoking in pubs back home is fantastic! Got to bed way to late given super early start ...
