What better way to recover from a bug that left me firing from both ends, than embarking on a four day hike in the Tongariro National Park. On the advice of my french companion for the trip Jean (Jon) the cure was to consume rice for several days to block everything up. Despite my doubts this work remarkably well.

... certainly do it again.
Alyssa was next up, and also seemed relaxed. However, when queried on where she was on the nervousness schedule, she said "10 out of 10". She scooted over to the edge, looked down, and also remarked on how scary it is once you are actually on the edge of the platform, looking down. It is "so high!". She got into position, and the jump master encouraged her, and then gave her a nice push off the edge. She moved into great dive form ...

I had another nice morning run. Quick play on playground in Tairua then long drive to Taupo.
Bouncy bag was fun but waterpark was lame.
Afternoon walk around lake was chilly. Then Indian dinner and shopping trip. Rather uneventful day so will see what tomorrow brings.

Nice run around lake and fun ...
... then decided to get out and head back to the hostel. We made dinner - chicken curry which was yummy - then Leah, Steve and Dawn went to the cinema to see Thor 2 whilst the rest of us made what Ash and Nat called a 'cotch corner' - basically pulling all the duvets and pillows off the beds and making a big comfy areas on the floor. We put a few rucksacks behind our backs and set up the ipad on the end of the bunk beds and watched Just Go With ...
