After my long flight through the night I made my way in to the city of KL and to my hostel. First thing to do, lay down and take a nap! I spent the day wandering the city with a girl from the hostel who had accidently been living there for 2 months. I mean accidently because she had her hand bag stolen with her passport and means of money in it. I got to have some great food here! again with the food, traveling means you need new pants when you get home. For dinner we went into china town and...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia 80daysrtw This is really just a test blog entry again to see how this all works

... after another excellent dinner of Chinese/Malay street food on Jalan Alur, we went back to find the iPhone in pieces and a promise to fix it and send on to us in Singapore.
The flight the following day was taking us both across the Equator for the first time in our lives. Once we finished packing we went into the bathroom and emptied the sink and flushed the toilet a couple of times. Just to remember how it should look.
... There is something for everyone to see and experience in Kuala Lumpur.
Another day we got out to see the impressive Twin Petronas Towers of Malaysia, and the KL tower, all located in the Golden Triangle area (read: the $$$ area). Underneath the Twin Petronas Towers is a ridiculous shopping mall (read: strictly window shopping)... where Keith had the privilege of paying to use the bathroom (which is ...
... stinky, and commercial. Stuff, stuff, stuff to buy everywhere. Who needs it?!
1st World Facilities, 3rd World Mentality. Heard this expression a few days and it has definitely stuck. Some parts of KL are incredibly high tech and beautifully clean and would make you really question their developing world status. So what is it that's holding them back? Well, beyond the mentality issue their water system is shambolic. Not having clean ...
Selamat pagi! Good morning! Yesterday mom and I spent the day going to bible study, shopping, and going up in the towers. At 452 meters, the Petronas Towers were the tallest in the world until 2004 when the Taipei 101 surpassed them. The people of Malaysia are very proud of them and revere them ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia hjbarraTravel Tip #1: One of the most annoying things to deal with when you are travelling for a long period of time is consistently being asked where you are from.... by strangers on the street, by taxi drivers in a car, by people on the bus.... everywhere in Asia but especially in Malaysia...
Top tips on avoiding the boring conversation you've had to repeat one million times...
Response to "Where you from??":
a) Say Croatia (nobody ...
... that would be wrong). But the good thing about traveling is that just when things start to suck, you always meet someone or go somewhere that makes you feel all better! So just when I was in the depths of stressing over the price of doing a masters...I met this cool cheeky social worker from Belgium, and we talked about social work, and it at least reminded me that I really do want to do this masters, so even though it won't be simple, it's worth it. :) and also his cheeky ...
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia myriam_123... including the different types of Mosque Architecture, clothes, script, scrolls, and art in Islam. The museum did an excellent job of presenting the differences and similarities between Muslim societies around the world. We also walked around little India, and Chinatown. In little India Sarah and I bought some samosas on the street. We were in heaven. One of accomplishments this trip is to have eaten Samosas in every country.
Later that evening Sarah, Jim ...
... But that honestly is the most interesting thing that has happened so far in Malaysia and everyone on the tour agrees with me..so we are yet to be impressed with Malaysia..i'm kind of disappointed that it's so western. I mean the rules and order are a good thing but roads look boring again without tuk tuks or goats or cows..maybe thailand and India will end up like this!? In a way i hope not! Anyway we arrived in Kuala Lumpur today and are off for dinner in the twin towers! Will update again soon! x
Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia katyannwilkinso... them at this point. However, I've been pleasantly surprised here. Many other places are a much of a muchness within themselves - Bangkok is chocked full of wats and Tibet is packed with monasteries. KL feels more diverse. Malays, Chinese, Westerners from everywhere; both Asian and Western stores line the malls; Hindu temples sit proudly across the street from mosques ...
