Catherine's Palace after the German army set it ablaze when they
vacated it at the end of the war. The amber room was not like
anything that we have ever seen; every inch of the room decorated as
a mosiac with several tons of hand-carved amber pieces. We visited
`the graves of the former tsars and tsarinas at St. Peter and Paul's
Cathedral and fortress before bidding St. Petersburg a fond farewell.

Dinner is the same buffet that it was going out but this time we get our free champagne which I drink both glasses. Later we get some desserts or at least I do but I’m pretty full from the turkey and vegetables so only get a tiny bit. As we are not into gambling and not into the movies or anything else happening on the ship, we are happy to retire to our room after dinner and read and just relax. Always nice to relax.
