OK - if you need to stay in the city centre. It was boked for us by nakedbus. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice bar in the basement. Good kithcen facilities, though there were lots using it at the same time and many didn`t quite relly know how to clear up after themselves - e.g. whiping cookers and work surfaces.

Was the worst Hostel so far on my trip. It's very noisy and dirty there. Especially the kitchen is the dirtiest I've seen here in NZ. If you are in Wellington go to the Trek Global. Way better...

This morning we get up early to go white water rafting on the Rangitikei River, famous for its steep and technically demanding rapids... We have so much fun and its not as difficult as I thought it would be, though there were a couple of hairy moments when some of us nearly fell out of the raft :-/ but we all managed to stay in and were named the A …

Long day today, long journey to Picton to get the ferry, then had a few hours waiting for the ferry and then nearly 4 hours on the ferry (which stunk!); tried to sleep and then woke to find this strange gypsy looking boy staring me right in the face! Finally got to Wellington, had a walk around the city at night with Adam and Astrad which was nice and then an early night.

I haven't written about New Zealand at all, mainly because I've been having the best time ever so haven't had any time to, so here goes: I arrived in Auckland to a massive temperature shock, I'd gone from nearly 40•C to around 5! In the airport a massive security man came up to me and started grilling me about where I was staying, if I knew …

Bear Grylls eat your heart out. Last week we trekked the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, cited as the best one-day tramp in the country due to it's spectacular and varied volcanic terrain. The 16km hike had us climbing over lava flows, crossing a crater floor, skirting active geothermal areas, and passing beautiful and serene emerald and blue lakes; …

Even though it was part time for three weeks, getting back into the swing of work was difficult since having left the pub. Being part of an agency I found was hard because the places I worked had no time for me and tended to dislike agency staff , one even told me that themselves ! Charming. Nevertheless , I worked as hard as I could with a smile …
