Melbourne, Australia

For our first night in Melbourne, we stayed at Base Backpackers in the St Kilda area, because thats where we heard good ol' Tom Langrish was staying. We decided it would be best not to forewarn him that we were checking into his room, and we gave him the shock of his life when he strolled in later that night! We all cooked in the hostel and drank some goon before heading out to Fitzroy St (pretty trendy part apparently). we all had a scotch at a bar called Termini. It was pretty cold, and cou...

Hello Melbourne

Well, its been a while since i've actually written anything here, been very lax in that regard. Anyway, I've passed through Brisbane, stayed with Amy for a few days which was awesome!! Brisbane is quite a nice city, although very rainy while we were there. Easy to wander around and see stuff. Went to the Castlemaine brewery, was quite a good tour, drank some free beers, including one from a wooden cask, which only goes to reinforce for me the fact that beer on wood tastes better. Chris left f...

Another long day

Up at 645, wanted to find brekkie, only thing open around was a cake store so I got a cupcake. Yay lol. Met up with the day tour driver. Was doing the great ocean road. We continued to pick up the rest in town, before heading out to Geelong for hot chocolate and tim tams. MMMMM chocolate!

Continued on to Torquay- the birth place of Quicksilver and RipCurl clothing. Went there and bought the brothers their presents.

Continued to Lorne for lunch, home made by our driver. Headed ...

Pretty slack day

Slept in and ate brekkie at the hostel. Your standard continential. Took the tram into city to meet Nadja from Contiki tour, who was also in Melbourne. We walked around, and I souviner shopped as it is my last chance too. Saw as much as possible.

Planned on going out with Nina who I met on the plane over seas, only she got sick and had to cancel. Chilled at hostel again, went for diner with Danny and Frida (finally a third girl in the room, and not another irish- it was 5 irish, 1 swed...

End of highlights for the trip!

Last night someone came in late, snored so loud! and left in the morning. No bags or anything. Strange.

Tram'd into the city, walked around. My calf was in a lot of pain, which made walking difficult, not sure why it was cramped up, even at night it would wake me up. Only 2 of us doing the Penguin Parade today.

Headed to another wildlife sanctury, not to sound horrible, but I wasn't really feeling up for another one. Then we headed to Phillips Island, went to the chocolate fac...

St Kilda festival

First and foremost, I have put all of my pictures up on picasa as it is way easier than this travel website since i have a couple hundred. you can check them out at http://picasaweb.google.com/caremillard i am still working on editing them and naming them which might take awhile, but you can check them out whenever you please. the website should also let you download them directly to your computer, so if you want to keep any of them you can (maybe your in some! or maybe you just think im that...

Return to Melbourne - Ireland v Australia Test

13th June Departure to Melbourne for a weekend of madness. Rugby match is at 8pm on Saturday evening in the Telstra Dome in South Bank! We spend Friday evening in The Elephant & Wheelbarrow, Saturday before and after the match in PJ's and then the Casino: and Sunday in The Elephant & Wheelbarrow and PJ's (sensing a pattern!) We stayed in St Kilda's which was a really cool place and beside the sea. The weather reminded me if home - sunny and frosty cold! Was actually nice after all the...

Andreas and the Beach

Today the jet lag really kicked in and we woke up at 5 in the evening! lol the chinese had gone but a german guy called Andreas was there. Went to the beach, it was lovely!! And we made yet another rookie mistake after only one night by buying a $8 bottle of beer, which is a lot!! lol Had a great night as it was Ladies Night and all the girls got free champaigne so that was quite funny! Met a couple of scottish lads, they were a laugh; and had another McDonalds for dinner (the 3rd one!) Went ...
