G'day Mate: Week One in the Land Down Under

I realise that I'm pretty late in writing these now! It's been three weeks since we first arrived here and we are pretty settled. Nevertheless, here is what went on in week one... After a flight that involved bumps, hilariously dubbed over films (they dub over 'swear' words in films with words that sound vaguely similar= ass/hands was one example …

We had a very long and uncomfortable bus journey to the culture packed city of Melbourne, in Victoria. Melbourne is known for its funky art work, laid back city vibe and the great food that the cafes and restaurants have to offer. We had been told by a lot of people that they adored Melbourne and that it's such a loveable city. Many people …

Again, not much to report today apart from spending 6 hours on the beach soaking up the much needed rays as Melbourne is renowned for it's 4 seasons in 1 day. So if the sun is out, make the most of it as it could be gale forces winds, rain and miserable within a couple of hours!

On the way back from the beach I popped to one of the cake …

So today I was flying from Canberra to Melbourne. The flight only took about 1 hr, which is a godsend as the Greyhound bus takes about 9 hrs. I think the best option was chosen even if it cost a little more.

I caught the shuttle bus into Melbourne centre and then had to get the tram to St Kilda where I was staying for a couple of days. I …

Clean and tidy room although not as much space as Brisbane Base.
Decent breakfast for $5 but kept awake all night by the noisy bar!
