Stayed here quite a while so...Plus points: Big kitchen, 24 hour reception, bathrooms cleaned daily, great bacon and egg breakfast, real close to town, great computer area.
Down sides: no free wifi, cookers need matches which are always missing, not enough cutlery!

We stayed in the stray bus section of the hotel and the rooms were nice. The ensuite was great but would have been better if it wasnt one of those 'keep the button pushed in for water' showers.

We stay at a very well organised backpacker here and had a ensuite twin, not very roomy but spotless and well located, it's a lovely place, theSout h Island just keeps getting better and better and we are happy just to stroll around for the afternoon soaking it all in.

2 weeks still to go!! :) Well Queenstown is a thrill seekers paradise. I decided to do the Shotover boat jet. I was looking forward to the speed of the boat, but I hadn't realised it would more be like a fairground ride. With a black waterproof cape and life jacket on, I stepped onto the boat. Second row from the front and in the middle would …

GR: After leaving the lovely Wanaka wishing for more, we were excited and apprehensive about finally making it to Queenstown where we planned to stay for the winter. We really hoped we'd like it as much as some of the other places we had passed through. New Zealand is well known as a Mecca for adventure sports, and Queenstown is right at its …

When we got to Queenstown it was snowy in the mountains and the town was covered in fairy lights. The harbour was surrounded by shops and restaurants, pretty houses and lodges in the hills and above them were the ski slopes. The streets were full of people who were either in ski gear or dressed up to go out. It felt like Christmas (to top it off, …

Who knew venturing South could be so damn cold?! Being on the opposite side of the world certainly has it's advantages; back in Asia and Australia we were treated to some of the hottest climates we've ever experienced. New Zealand however had something quite different to offer. Cold, cold, and more cold. If we never set eyes on our hoodys again, it …
