Pretty good for a party town. I think it's luck of the draw as to who you have in your dorm but the guys in our room were nice enough.

4 bed dorms. Pretty basic but had a kitchen area with fridge. Good stay.

So we arrived in Airlie Beach after what will hopefully be our last night bus. Airlie Beach was lovely and sunny, so after checking in (and a quick nap) we had a look around the shops. We had found out that it was the Reef Festival, an annual event in the town. Lucky for us as we had a few days until our Whitsundays tour. We met up with Olivia and …

For a few days anyway. Half hour walk from the bus stop I finally arrive at my hostel, as I walk in the room I hear my name being shouted from the bathroom. It's Lizzie & Ellie, out of all the rooms available I'm in their room. Yeah I thought I have friends for a few days. Before I knew it I was changed and heading back out to meet the others. …

16:00 Writing this on the deck of the 'Hammer', my home for the next 2 days. It's an ex-racing yacht and is a turquoise boat with big white sails. Boarded at about 08:30 this morning and sailed through the islands to Whitsunday Island. We sorted a few dolphins along the way which was cool. Walked through the rainforest track to Whitehaven Beach. …

13:40 Me and Johanna got up early to try and spot platypuses at the creek again. It was freezing cold but despite spending half an hour wandering up and down we didn't see any. Guess we used up all our luck last night. On the way down to Townsville where we stopped to change the bus and have lunch we stopped off at a tea plantation and at various …

... best coffee Ive had in a long time! I then attempted to eat cornflakes by the captain but every time I brought the spoon out of the bowl they blew away so I had mostly milk and hair for breakfast. We headed to our first snorkelling spot for the day and had to get a dinghy to the coral, I was fully suited up to go in and then when we got to the spot the guy was throwin loads of fish food in making a million fish shoot about, I freaked and just stayed in the boat! Haha you ...
