Well, since we last wrote we indeed partied. When they say "free drinks" at ladies night in HK, they really mean free drinks! The boys were paying 5pounds/pint and we were paying.. nothing.. for anything. Oh my. We of course did not drink too many of the free drinks, being sensible girls who know our limits. Right, finally go around to adding this entry, has been a bit of a roller coaster arriving. Conquered my irrational fear of long haul flying then. That was incredibly boring 10 hours of being tired and being unable to sleep. Gonna have to get used to that sort of thing. Bangkok, was fuer
eine Stadt. So fremdartig und unterschiedlich zu unserem gewohnten
Umfeld in Deutschland. Allein dem Treiben der Menschen koennte man hier
einen ganzen Eintrag und mehr widmen.
Den Hostel-Angestellten, die einem das Mittagessen(1,5 Euro) an den
Pool auf dem Dach bringen und fuer die es voellig unverstaendlich
scheint, wenn man ihnen dafuer ein Trinkgeld gibt.
Den Taxifahren in ihren rosa Autos, die Touristen uebers Ohr hauen
wollen, meistens garnicht ...

Mike and I parted ways in Manado and I caught a flight to Bangkok via Jakarta. It takes about the same time as a VIP coach, but u arrive in better shape ...in the VIP coach. It rained most of the way, so my wipers gave up on me about 100km from Bangkok, well into twilight. There were other minor technical problems, but nothing u can't solve with chewing gum and baby wipes.
