Pink taxi's everywhere on the AirPort! Unfortunately our first taxi was not a pink one but we did have a really nice driver who brought us to our hotel Galleria 10 on Soi 10, Sukumvit. The Grand Palace, however when I arrived I was apparently I appropriately dressed despite being in full length trousers and a tshirt that covered my shoulders which is what is normally respectful dress in Thailand. And let's also be clear that this was a palace and NOT a temple so I was a little shocked given the stringent regulations. ... building behind the first was another giant Buddha surrounded by beautifully painted walls and ceiling. In fact, every temple we saw had so much detail in the wall paintings. They looked like giant random murals depicting daily life. We got to this last temple just as it was closing up and the monk actually locked the gate after he motioned us to leave.
