Famous for Art Nouveau it seems...
... streets of the old town are cobbled and this extends beyond the area into the Moscow District and Central District in parts. Everything can be reached on foot (if you don't mind walking a lot) but the trams connect everything fairly easily too.
With just a short time to venture round I had limited my list of things to see to just one - the Museum (yes, I know I'm not normally into these!) of Occupation... but I was lucky enough to have covered off quite a bit ...
Anita & Angela's Riga Escape!

Morgen vertrek ik naar de stad Almaty. Plan is om 2 of 3 weken in Kazachstan te verblijven. Vandaar vertrekt er ...
Let down and hanging around
... n' roll the band was playing. I twirled her around a few times, and she seemed to be having a minimum amount of fun - pursing her lips and looking away. It seemed that I had no idea about courting an eastern european woman. Soon she told me she hated the music and we left the dancefloor.
I thought I'd better chat to her some more - after all, Tom and Raj were dancing with their tall blondes and I had an attractive, sophisticated and moody looking ...
