... washing, so got some change then put it on, passed the time in the reception using the internet. When it went in the dryer, we went to make food, spent so long trying to work out how to turn the microwave on, though it had a special trick as it was a eco microwave… Even went to reception to ask them how to use it, but they said it was probably broke. When I went back I figured out that only 2 out of 8 plug sockets worked ...

... do a breathaliser which, despite a beer a couple of hours before, he passed. We decided to stop at the next motel but had to travel about 50 miles eventually finding one at Sarina. (Over 400 miles driven today). A nice stopover and a good nights sleep. We have decided to stop dribbling our way along the coast and head on to Airlie Beach. Up to now the driving has been pretty dull and we waste time trying to find things to do. Time is not on our side.

This morning we enjoyed breakfast on our apartment balcony overlooking the boats on the Brisbane river. After rush hour we set off on the 2hr road trip to Byron Bay, New South Wales. We found some free parking and headed straight to the beach for a relaxing afternoon in the sand. The beach setting was lovely with mountains in the background. ... and begging them not to do it, but with three of them carrying me, I didn’t really stand a chance. Everyone was just either watching in shock or laughing because I knew the staff from when I was there last time.

I felt really sad to say goodbye to people again, but most of them will be down in Sydney in the New Year so I will get to see them again. ...
