This is a great hostel in an amazing location as the name suggests, right on the beach! The staff are friendly and helpful. Book your surfing lessons from here too as the instructors are so much fun. Highly recommend!

A 5 minute walk from the small town of Byron and just as close to the beach.
Luckily for the majority of our stay we had the 9 bed dorm all to ourselves!
Quiet at this time of year, but a nice environment with a pool, volleyball and BBQ.
Free bikes and body boards to rent but due to a couple of rainy days we never got the chance

Byron Bay is full of hippies and surfers, cute little boutiques and very alternative shops, and the beaches are beautiful with really big waves. I arrived here on Wednesday around noon, and the hostel picked me up from the bus stop. The hostel's name is Backpackers Inn, and it's a really nice place located right next to the beach. I shared a room …

We weren't sure whether we were going to be able to get our flight to come to Byron. We were due to fly at 8.10am on Friday morning and Tropical Cyclone Ita was due to hit Cairns on Friday night. Luckily we got away with no problems and as the wind and rain was just picking up. We flew from Cairns to Brisbane which took just over 2 hours and then …

This morning my friend and I woke up at 6am to go and watch the sunrise at Byron Bay- was pretty impressive behind the lighthouse! During the morning we chilled in the hostel hammocks in the garden and read our books. At 1pm we were picked up from our hostel and driven to a pretty remote beach for our surf lesson. I was a little apprehensive in the …
