Av. Raymondi 510 Huaraz, Peru

Huaraz, Peru avi_einat... each hemmed by massive peaks, and, on the side we`d soon be coming down, a green lagoon framed by a gigantic curved glacial formation. This was our lunch spot and, once we caught our breath back, we duly consumed with vigour. Getting down is always easier than heading up (twisted ankles aside) and, following lunch, we zig zagged down the other side into the valley and to our 2nd night campsite, Taullipampa at 4200.

It`s relatively easy (you ...
Huaraz, Peru eugenecash... over four years ago when I went to Rock Werchter in Belgium. Quite some time. For this trip I had my own tent and I borrowed a mega-thick sleeping bag and a roll mat (that was about as effective as newspaper) and I fell asleep almost immediately. I was fairly tired after the day's exertions.

I was awoken the next morning at some awful hour and presented with more coca tea to ease me into the day. We were warned that day two would be the toughest. And tough ...
Huaraz, Peru lisa.gillespie... wake up to that ****** music they blare everymorning in the stores below my hostel here in Huaraz. I would've stayed up there until I had to come back if I had enough gas and food. I only had enough for the 3 nights I came back to Huaraz, ate some food, got a hostel, bought some more supplies and headed back out to the cordilleras where I was planning on killing some time doing more treking and trying to get my moneys worth out of the park fee I just paid. The second ...

Huaraz, Peru szokelalicaro... keep pushing on. About halfway up, we saw the girls at the saddle on the ridge. It seemed like they were deciding whether to keep going or to turn back. By then the sun had come up over the ridge and was warming our bones. We saw them start to walk and figured they were pressing on. We too pressed on, stopping a few times to gather our energy. We finally topped out on our only flat terrain all day. Ahead of us on the right was a vertical wall that was to be the last ...
Huaraz, Peru destin8ion... to do some hiking and mountain climbing in the Cordillera Blanca. One of the famous hiking trails which people do is the Santa Cruz trek – which Daphne in Arequipa highly recommended in doing. But after hiking the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu, I just wanted to take it easy here.

I visited a few travel agency shops along Avenida Luzuriaga, enquiring about day trips to explore the area. They were all offered in Spanish. One ...
