    10 Hours

Fortaleza was literally just a stopping point on our journey from the rubbish city of Recife to the paradise beach resort of Jericoacoara. The 14 hour bus journey was actually rather nice. Bit of sleep, listening to music, watched a film and read about a third of my Jules Verne book. We arrived in Fortaleza at about 9.30 and by the time we got to …

    Hostel move day.

... good, especially for a hostel. each night provides two options and as me and Paul couldn't decide which to have, we ordered both and had half each. Jens had told us that tonight there was going to be a big party with Swedish music and plenty of Swedish people (much to the boys delight) so we all had pre drinks at the hostel and caught the bus to Lagoa which is where all of the bars were, but not before I managed to walk into the bus stop and then into a huge puddle ...

... frustrated us as we walked around to every place in town enquiring only to realise the only way was to go to the rodoviaria tomorrow and buy them on the spot. We grabbed some food and went back to the hostel to cook dinner, have a few drinks with the staff before Leesh got tired real quick and phantomed her way back to the room and I followed not long after. Leesh was ready out of it by the time I got back to the room and it didnt take too long to be gone as ...

... a kitchen on the beach who cooked them up in garlic and oil for 7reais. Absolute bargain and the taste was fantastic although peeling each one was a mission. Was such a nice change to our usual dinner and a nice cheapish date night. We arrived back at the hostel and I called the banks to sort out why once again they had blocked our cards before heading up to pack and getting ourselves sorted before our transit up to Jericoacoara early tomorrow ...

... street vendor for 5reais when it would cost triple that back home. It was quite nice but we think it had been tampered with sugar as no way could taste that good and be a wonder food. We got back to the hostel in time for the free drink happy hour and did some socializing with the other guests before eating dinner. We had another drink as we chatted away with everyone before heading up to bed around 2200. It was getting rowdy out there so we snuck away fairly ...
