The driver dropped us at the most northern village where our next mission was to find a place to stay. What a find! A collection of beach huts on the quietest beach we have ever seen. A string of hammocks hung around but no tourists to fill them. This place was heaven ...

... bags inspected; firstly when entering the airport, second going
upstairs to the departure area, and thirdly when entering the gate areas for
departure. The cab picked us up far too early, giving us nearly 2 hours to kill
before heading on to Krabi, so we opted for a second breakfast of sorts. I
opted for a chicken and boiled rice option, which turned out to be the Asian
equivalent to chicken soup, with the rice and chicken in a lovely broth.

... they were sat on the sand in his "area." Such a ****. He also tried to chuck me off the bed when I couldn't pay coz Lucas had gone to the room to get the sarong, no compassion given i could barely move let alone sit on sand. Luckily, Phil, another halong bay friend, had turned up so he fronted the money for the 5 minutes that Lucas was gone.

The only vaguely fun thing we did here was go to the bar with a boxing ring and watched 2 drunk guys punch each other for a free bucket! ...

... my time on Phi Phi what it was as it made me feel like I belonged in a little community.

3 weeks went by and I quickly became close with everyone else working in the bars on the island, mostly Brits. I was literally living the Phi Phi lifestyle. I know a lot of people always say Phi Phi has been ruined since the Tsunami,it is literally packed with clubs and bars and tourists. The town on Phi Phi Don is wedged between two big hills. It's got a bustling atmosphere and despite not booking ahead I found a slightly clean hotel room (glass half full) to drop my things.

The beach is awesome with the tide in and really impressive when goes out, right out. You can see it all from the top of one of the hills. There's no cars, just dangerous cyclists trying ...

    great little hostel. The rooms are cheap and you get what u pay for but they are clean and the staff could not have been more helpful!
