      ... in the dish, and like a mischievous schoolgirl, Riya began taking her finger to lick the remains, like you would when making a cake. She suggested I too should get involved before it all went, and so we sat s******ing as we finished off the remains from the massive pot.

      I couldn't disagree when she said it would be a waste to wash it away.

      Once everything was cleared up, Jijoy made tea for everyone and we all fell asleep.

      Recipe

      1. Fry cumin seeds in oil until they begin to crackle
      2. Add nut paste and stir until heated. It should have a sloppy texture.
      3. Add salt until it "tastes good"
      4. Add diced onion.
      5. After 5 mins add chopped chilies. Wait until onion goes brown

      ... Some dogs outside were having a loud conversation for a while, but I eventually nodded off.


      In the morning, Sajeev and Jijoy went off to class and so I went back over to see Riya and Karma. I saw that Riya was about to start cooking, and so I asked if she could teach me.

      "Of course, though this is a recipe from Northern India, so I can't promise it will be good...". Spoiler alert: it was great.
