... we had finally found a spot as another car pulled out. When we drove onto the steep grassy area our car started sliding down the hill....sideways. Ted was able to get it stopped and back out without hitting the car next to us. Sheree was quite helpful during this whole episode shrieking and gasping. ... as anti-tank barricades that were erected by the German Wehrmacht. After about 2 hours we found Monschau nestled at the top end of the Eifel ranges and walked through the narrow cobbled streets enjoying the architecture from the 11th century.

... assessed we went to explore old town.

Old town was really pretty. Nice blue stone buildings all from the local quarry. A castle and a church in the heart of town. There were two similar rock structures which we still don't know quite what they were. These were round semi circles in the rock face. Estimating about 20m high... so large.

Once we explored the town we went to the larges topiary garden open to the public IN THE WORLD. ...

Left for belgium this morning. Just entered the french speaking country and I read about some caves in liege, belgium that I will try to find. And then onto brussels.. an intereting thing in europe is all the public bathrooms cost money to use... here are some pictures of the roads. The sign that looks like a ghost busters sign means theres no speed ...

... evening. We ended up being stranded in a town in the middle of Nowhere, Germany and ended up staying the night in an odd little inn. We got up early the next morning to catch a 6:30am train and were back on our way. After a full 24 hours of traveling, we finally reached our hostel and were able to check in to our rooms at long last. It was a total fluke of a stop and although we never intended to, we added a pin in our map somewhere in northern Germany.
