I Have Arrived!

A travel blog entry by slumanstravels

So I've been cramped on a plane for something like a total of 13 hours and I'm just ready to get the heck off this thing, when my plane starts its decent. We've been in some clouds for quite a while so not much to look at, but then all of the sudden we break through the clouds and I see my first glimpse of France! I start spotting things like the …

Bienvenue à Paris!

Bienvenue à Paris! I arrived in Paris a few days before my program actually started. I knew that our program included a weekend in Paris, but I wanted to make sure I had enough time to do and see everything I wanted to here. For the first time, I am traveling alone and without a pre-determined agenda. The days were completely mine to design. I …

Paris, Paris!!!

Paris 3

Okay, we`ll slow it down a bit today. We hopped a couple a trains out of town to Poissy, a suburb of Paris and home to Le Corbusier`s Villa Savoy. At best described, Villas Savoy is tourism at it`s very best. What I have failed to tell you at this point, is that Paris was not exactly what I had expected. I didn`t expect so many other tourist to …

Paris 2

Okay, sit back and buckle your seat belts . . . We started off the morning bright and early by visiting La Defense. Next was the Arc de Triomphe and the amazing traffic circle of mayhem around it. The arc is overwhelming in size and the grave and eternal flame that is lit below the monument for the unknown soldier of the war is very moving. You …

If you're looking for a simple place to crash after a long day of sight seeing then I would recommend this place. It's centrally located with about a 2 min walk to the metro station and has everything you would need in a hostel. The staff was friendly but don't count on them to be much help for anything. Thats really the only negative that I experienced while i was there.
