On September 27, Erika and I took a two hour flight from Jo'burg to Cape Town, where we were staying for three nights. If it was mostly hot and sunny in Jo'burg and in Kruger Park, it was definitely not in Cape Town. Our cab driver let us know that we were experiencing a typical Cape Town winter day (spring is just starting here)... cool, cloudy …

Well I say that as knowing full well from past experiences suncream is 'too much expense' when on the road, we came fully equiped with a full trip's supply of asda suncream!...... Its been bloody ******* it down since we touched down in the cold and wet Cape Town! Yes, we knew it was winter, but not always that bad here, the guys at the backpackers …

... adjacent neighborhood from Obz. Old Biscuit Mill is your standard Saturday market in Africa that incorporates traditional food, read organic mushroom farmers, craft coffee roasters and creative panini artists, and classic African crafts, read laser print T-shirts, leather goods of all sorts, and cool fabric shops. In other words, they looked up what every young, creative hipstery type would be inevitably magnetized too, and then expertly created it. I mean this ...

Un-Interesting Day

A travel blog entry by angeleah.parey

This is going to be a short entry because today wasn't that interesting and not too much happened.

Those was our second day with SHAWCO. We went to a different University of Cape Town campus area to work with SHAWCO and to learn more about the South African history. It was kind of slow but they made it interactive so that it was interesting. We did a couple group projects and learned a lot of new things.
This was a short part of ...

Our last night in Namibia was spent at the impressive Fish River Canyon. The canyon is, I think, even larger than the Grand Canyon in the States, and it is spectacularly beautiful. We weren't able to do the 5-day hike along the canyon bottom, but we caught some incredible views in a short hike ...

Lovely place to arrive to, friendly, clean and comfortable and very well organised, fun, but with certain rules keeping it strictly out of the full party hostel list.
I only mark this down as our room was moist and leaky roof during the heavy rains.
Free breakfast very good variety and bbq great value. owners friendly and accommodating. Would definitely reccommend.
