On September 27, Erika and I took a two hour flight from Jo'burg to Cape Town, where we were staying for three nights. If it was mostly hot and sunny in Jo'burg and in Kruger Park, it was definitely not in Cape Town. Our cab driver let us know that we were experiencing a typical Cape Town winter day (spring is just starting here)... cool, cloudy …
Well I say that as knowing full well from past experiences suncream is 'too much expense' when on the road, we came fully equiped with a full trip's supply of asda suncream!...... Its been bloody ******* it down since we touched down in the cold and wet Cape Town! Yes, we knew it was winter, but not always that bad here, the guys at the backpackers …
... altered slightly because it seems that President Obama thought it would be a good day to take a similar tour. Well, you know what that means for the locals and tourists a like. Climbed up table mountain
Did a bus tour of the city which included a wine tour (drank on empty stomach's which was not the brightest idea!)
Did a walking tour of one of the townships: a memorable experience
Visited the District Six ...
How has this hostel rated in the past?
Lovely place to arrive to, friendly, clean and comfortable and very well organised, fun, but with certain rules keeping it strictly out of the full party hostel list.
I only mark this down as our room was moist and leaky roof during the heavy rains.
Free breakfast very good variety and bbq great value. owners friendly and accommodating. Would definitely reccommend.
