Hey yall!!! So im in Greece, Athens to be exact!!! Well the journey here im gonnna say was way less then fun! We took a train from Rome to Bari. Then from the Bari train station we took a bus to get us to the ferry port, then from Bari ferry port we took a Supposed super fats ferry to Patras the ferry pot in Greece. Im second guessing the Super fast part as we spent about 14+ hours on that stupid ferry ship. Then once at Patras we walked to the train station, then took a train one of those on...
Athens, Greece erinbobarinThe holy grail: COCO POPS Well back into western society which was a complete culture shock, really weird stuff. To have been in the middle east for so long with the Islamic fundamentalists, the ladies in Athens seemed to be walking around naked. Here they were, tight fitting pants, shaken there **** with the only garment befitting such dress, the eloquent G-STRING. THERE IS A GOD AFTER ALL!!!!!!!!! Well didn't take long before..... I was on a bus and off to Olympia, home of the ancient Olymp...
Macedonia, Greece grinspinnerI am now in Greece! Maybe it's the crazy language/letters, but I really feel far from home...not necessarily in a bad way though. It's nice and sunny here. On Sunday we decided to take a day trip out to Nettuno, a city on the coast. Everyone had been telling us that there was a city on the coast that was absolutely beautiful, and all the buildings were right on cliffs. Well, we kept forgetting the name of this city, so we just asked a guy at the train station where ''a city by the coast, the ...
Athens, Attica, Greece lmkInternational Youth Hostel, Athens Alex: Well "going home" doesn't feel so far off anymore. It was only this afternoon, as we were checking in to the hostel and were asked how many nights we intended to stay, that we realised, firstly that the 29th is on Monday, not Tuesday, and secondly that it is only 4 days away. Which, when you subtract the actual day that we leave, gives us 3 days for sightseeing in Athens - 2, discounting a day trip to Delphi. What on earth were we doing sitting in Fran...
Athens, Greece ricki958May 24 After arriving in Athens at 2:00 a.m. (due to a flight delay) and taking a 45 minute bus ride to downtown we met our first taste of local life. Our bus driver seemed to be in cahoots with the late-night taxi driver that approached us as we stepped off the bus. The driver offered us and another young couple a ride to our accommodations for 15 euros per couple. The other couple's hotel was 5 minutes away and ours was 5 minutes after. So the cabbie made 30 euros in 15 minutes. However it ...
Athens, Greece travelbrooksWell after 2 days in Venice, I decided to take a ferry to Greece. They have a bunch of ferries that leave from a bunch of different cities in Italy and arrive in a bunch of different cities in Greece. So I paid for the bare minimum which was the deck accommodation. The deck consists of sleeping anywhere you can find a spot. And let me tell you, these people were sure prepared for it. They had hammocks, inflatable mattresses, and all kinds of things to sleep on. They were under stairs, under l...

Athens - Allan & Ula on their first holiday together. Magical and very memorable time.
No visit to Athens would be complete without a visit to the Acropolis. The Parthenon, the largest building in the Acropolis and one of the world's most fantastic and inspiring sights. It was built as a temple to Athena. Visit the Plaka, the old neighborhood of Athens and wander in the narrow streets and alleys, discovering beautiful little shops, cafes, restaurants.
After few days...

... ship was undergoing renovations to make the space into a campus. The Learning Resource Center (LRC), where I will be the Assistant Director, had been the ship's gift shop, so quite a bit had to be done, especially since it was filled with gift shop merchandise that had to be boxed up by the Oceanic II's gift shop crew. Over several days, they were occasionally seen ...
Athens, Greece uaebuveh... visited the spectacular beehive tomb believed to be that of Agamemnon and his family that dates back 1500 years BC! We also walked through the old palace or fortress of the same age where once these legends of history had strolled. Makes one feel rather insignificant. My peace by the pool has ended. Mark and Annabelle have returned from the shop. Tom is out of the pool and they are all squabbling around me. Thus, I will sign off for today.
Athens, Greece mcnamaras... what we wanted and to head back. Near the studio we ran into Sarah, Jen and another old roommate, Jeff. They obviously had a few drinks in them and needed some food. We told them to give us twenty minutes and meet us back at our place. As we turned to walk away we heard a loud horn. Looking back we saw Sarah standing about a foot away from a bus that had crossed her path. It was a close one. Back at the studio we found two new roommates; Janeen and Carolyn. These ...
