Great location, within walking distance of so many awesome restaurants, shops, and historical sites! The staff have been awesome, place is clean and has a good vibe. I won't get a chance to enjoy the breakfast that is included so I can't say much about that, but all in all this place is great and getting here was a piece of cake.

Cool bar too - if Mr and Mrs B were 20 years younger and had no little B's we would have spent a few hours there! But Sprite, ice tea and the complementary Ouzo was great too!

Great location, helpful staff, good bed and breaky included - can't go wrong! The price at 15.00 only resembles where you are..Athens! As the facilities are not top notch. Older crew generally when we were there...not sure if this is usual or just in off season..

Enjoyed our stay at Backpackers. Place was clean, easy and friendly. The showers sucked (stayed there twice, two different rooms, sucked both times) but everyone in the shared rooms and in the roof top bar were extremely friendly. there was a taxi strike (big surprise) and the staff at backpacjers had organized to drive a bunch of us to the port to catch our ferry oin the morning. Totally made up for the shitty showers. Great location too. Recommended for sure.

With our big day of travel behind us, we disembarked our bus in Athens ready to navigate another foreign metro line. As we walked through the busy bus station, I was trying my luck looking for wifi and was pleasantly surprised when I got a free connection. We did a quick hunt on the maps for our location and for the location of the closest metro …

Day 1 Greece (July 2) Today I arrived in Athens!! I had an early morning flight from London, and I barely slept the night before. Ugh. At least I was in a nice hotel with a comfy bed!! My first friend I met on my travels was a man named Mr Meeghs who was staying at the same hotel as me. He is 78, his wife died two years ago and he's just starting …

We decided to take a walking tour of Athens to see all of the sites by foot. Our tour was led by an archaeologist who had an immense amount of knowledge about all of ancient Athens and Greece in general. He took us by all of the main sites in the city and explained their history and relevance to modern times. I enjoyed that he spent a long time …

Ahh Athens. I won't lie, it was nice to get out of Rome. Since we arrived to Athens fairly early, we decided to wander around. The first thing that caught our eye was Hadrian's Arch. It was just sort of sitting there right next to the main road. It was erected to honor Emperor Hadrian for all of his good works in Athens.
