Athens has a LOT to offer, but there is so much more to see and hundreds of islands to explore. I don't have enough time this trip to make it to all the islands of my choice(I will DEFINITELY be returning!), but I did go for the day to Aegina on Wednesday. I can not believe that my time in Europe is over, but I leave this afternoon for Egypt!! Greece has been a really nice last stop. My Grammy and Grampy, who usually eat 2 BIG tomatoes between them at dinner would be so proud of all the tomato and cucumber salads I have come to love here in Athens! We caught a flight down to Athens as it is a bit far to train it. Finally we found some hot weather and it was time to break out the singlets and shorts. The first day in Athens we did a walking tour of the city which was good. I didn't do one last time i was here so it was good to hear some of the history about the place. ATHENS IS AMAZING. I am a little fatigued right now so I'm not going to write much, but we have spent the past two days in Greece and it has been absolutely wonderful. The gothic tour of the city was awesome. We got a history of the city and many of the buildings relating to Roman royalty, religion, and gothic architecture. We also stumbled an acoustic session of six guitarist of various ages playing Blue Suade Shoes and Nothing Else Matters, which sounded perfect. It was kind of a lazy day in the city. We just had a few beers and watched a few soccer matches. We flew to Athens at got here at about 2 am and slept in the airport until around 6. That was fun....

I took a flight from Palermo, Sicily to Athens, Greece. Athens was underwhelming as well. Pretty dirty and I found the food to be sub-par. However, they did have one delicious dish . . . the gyro. It is like a Kebab, only 5 times better. Plus is only about 2.50 American dollars.
