I'm writing this entry from the train back to Brixham after spending a wonderful three days in London! Since I've really never done anything like that - exploring a city alone - it was a very unique and independent experience.

I arrived on Wednesday at London Paddington Rail Station with my typical amazingly large backpack around midday …

Why are there so many White people?

"I see London, I see France, I see Kassi's travel plans..." was how I started my semester four months ago when deciding where to travel during my time abroad. I knew Paris and London were my top two places I wanted to see, and everywhere else was icing on the cake. It's funny that these two were my top priorities, but really they ended up being not …

The Sandwich Shop That Wasn`t There

Finally, we got a full day's worth of sightseeing in London today. I think we pretty much saw most of the sights Lonson has to offer. One thing we didn't see was one of the Queen's guard, the ones with the tall bear skin hats. And after exploring the city, London has found a place in my heart. Tomorrow we go to other areas in England; then we go …

This was our first stop for the PLP break. I had an amazing time! We got in super late Friday night and didn't get into our hostel till around 2am. But the next morning we still got up so we could go sightseeing. We saw sooo much: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the "Eye" of London, the Houses of Parliament, the Thames River, this …

    Fine but dissatisfying

My first experience in a hostel was much different than I had expected. I was very disappointed. I really don't mind having basic facilities (obviously, after my time at Middle Ruckham Farm), but when an accommodation states that they have something, but they don't, it can be so frustrating. The WiFi at the hostel was so slow and so minimal that I could barely even check my email. I chose the hostel partially because they had free internet usage. But I would have rather paid for WiFi that actually worked. They also placed my on the 3rd floor (a.k.a. the 4th floor in America, because the American "1st" floor is actually the "ground level"), and there was no elevator. This wasn't that large of a problem, unless I happened to leave something in my room and not realize it until I was out in the sidewalk. Also, it was strange simply because I expected to meet people and hang out with them, but everyone seemed to be traveling with others, and even though I did talk to some, they were not always friendly.

Tonight will be my last night here before I fly to Ireland. It's been a great hostel. Mainly Aussies and Kiwis staying here. A few Asian, Brazillian in my dorm. Free wifi is great & bathroom is fairly clean. Sweet :0) quite afew stairs to climb to 4th floor though, good way to wear off those Hot, Flat, English beers :0)

화장실이 계속 깨끗하지 않다 ㅠㅠ 샤워기를 움직일수 없다. 그것 빼고는 방안에 세면대도있고 짐칸도 있어서 좋다:)
