Hello! Looks like we're ready to come home. It's been wonderful to get away and great to see things from an outside perspective in many respects, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Mustang, sleeping in my own house and getting back to kung fu. David's pretty worn out too. Partly because I gave him my sore throat, so he's being tortured by that right now. At the moment we're at our hostel, the Astor Victoria. It's actually the best one we've stayed at so far. The beds are new, the pl...
London, United Kingdom 7continents My first day in London. Woke up around 8:30am and went downstairs for
a free continental breakfast. It wasn't bad. They had cereal, toast,
ham, cheese and oatmeal. After breakfast I was ready to got town.
Walked up to victoria station and decided to pay and get on one of
those tour guided double decker buses. I got to travel all around town
and hop on and hop off as much as I wanted to within 24 hours. This
was an excellent way to see and become familiar with the city....
My second day consisted of walking pretty much everywhere I had been
by bus the day before. I walked for over 6 hours straight. The pictures will explain everything that I saw. I also checked out some cool pubs and bars along the
way as well as some cool cars. Made a pit stop at Trafalgar square and watched a concert that was going
on. Did not recognize who was performing but she reminded me of Kelly Rowand.
Headed back to the hostal and walked through St. James
park. This...
My last full day in London started off with breakfast at the hostal
and then it was off for some more site seeing. I started out at Hyde
park and decided to walk all the way around the park. From the park I
walk past marble arch and then walked around Mayfair mall. I bought
some souvenirs from a small shop on the street and walked through
a few mens clothing stores along the way. After Mayfair I looked for a
good place to eat. Found a place that served fresh sandwiches...
we arrived in london this morning and wasted no time checking into the hostel, dropping off our bags, and touring the city! we took a double decker...went to the pub, blah blah blah :-)
London, England, United Kingdom ashbroOkk, we are in London! First of all, I must find my girlfriend Gabriela, who shall be waiting for me at some unknown(??) underground station. Second of all, I have no idea of were to go first, and we have a pretty big list of places to go! and Third of all, I miss her so much!! Well, when I got there (Victoria Station) it took me a while to find her - the place is huge!, which gave me time to buy her flowers!' As soon as we met we headed to the hotel, that was pretty far from the city centre....
London, England, United Kingdom daniel.hulshof Hello,
Just an update to say that I have been enjoying my time in London city thus far. I really like London and will definitely come back...and it's a city I could see myself living in too :) I have seen most of the major sights and have been catching up with friends I made while traveling in SE Asia, Oz, and NZ. It's been great seeing them again! I am leaving early on Friday for Dublin to stay with some lovely girls I met on my Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand trip. I am really exci...
So we missed our flight to Bristol this morning. I looked at the reservation and thought we left at 10:25am when actually we left at 9:30am and 10:25am was our arrival time in Bristol. We didn't even make it to the airport until about 9:20am. We switched flights and flew into Gatwick Airport, about 25 miles outside of London. Our flight was delayed by at least an hour, today was just not a good travel day for us. Needless to say we didn't make it to Stonehenge. From Gatwick we took the Gatwic...

After a very long day we made it to London. Our flight pulled away from the gate on time but then we sat on the tarmac for an hour. Sweltering hot with no air conditioning and cramped quarters made for 300+ ugly passengers. Other than the kid throwing up in front of me, and the nasty guy next to me(not Bill, on the other side) the flight was basically uneventful. Nine long uncomfortable hours later we landed at Heathrow, found our ...
