Today we drove 257 miles from Elk Lake, through Bend to Crater Lake and finally ending in Ashland. Crater Lake was amazing. Quotes from the kids include: "That is so blue. It is nothing like the Willamette River." and "It looks like an aquarium." We've had a great day and are now resting comfortably in the wonderful Ashland Hostel.

This was going to be our last day in Ashland. We ate muffins, payed about 50 for the stay at the RV camp and drove off at about 9:00 for about 3 1/2 hours before stopping off for gas. We stopped off at Bend Oregon and bought some snickers bars and some pineapple ...

... eager passengers year after year the Rodeo would unceasingly make the long trek to Heaven's Amphitheater in south central Washington for the most delightful and appreciated of times. The Gorge is my favorite weekend of the year and the trusty Rodeo was always there to carry the smiles and stories. It was difficult to sell and watch her drive away, but the money received was the final push to starting my voyage to Vietnam.

... we and a lovely lunch by the river.

We sample some of the local 'Lithua' water (tasted revolting due to the high magnesium content) before going on a walk through Lithua Park (and letting Francesca play on the play equipment).

As we came back past the theatres there was a Mexican ? group playing and dancing - so we stopped to watch that to pass the time.

By now it was time for us to split - so that Julie could head to the theatre to ...

... a glass of wine on the rooftop coupled with a nice conversation with Anne, we left Pippi behind (for the first time on this trip I might add) and all headed out to Thai Pepper for dinner. We got a seat outside by the creek after the theatre crowd left and proceeded to enjoy a delightful dinner with good drinks (Andy a mojito) and great food.
