Today we drove 257 miles from Elk Lake, through Bend to Crater Lake and finally ending in Ashland. Crater Lake was amazing. Quotes from the kids include: "That is so blue. It is nothing like the Willamette River." and "It looks like an aquarium." We've had a great day and are now resting comfortably in the wonderful Ashland Hostel.

... so we left her a $10.00 tip, making the total dinner cost $28.42.
... We aren't sure if it was the stress of the morning drive mixed with how hungry we were, or if everything was really that good, but trust us when we say we NEEDED that food. Pasta Piatti is HIGHLY recommended if you are ever checking out the area.
Tomorrow, the weather is slated to improve throughout the region. We are planning to make it to Vancouver, WA, but as we have seen with the past two days- it all depends on what Mother Nature has up her sleeve.

We reached the peak where we could see many mountains in the distance, including Mt Shasta (we think as it was obscured in smoke), downtown Ashland and the buildings near the condo, Emigrant lake, and two families of deer (mom with babies).
