... me and Bonnie settled for dinner while Sheridan caught up with some kip. Had a good cat with her about life and such things. June 1st Bonnie had her baby shower to go to so it was time for the boys to do some touristy stuff (of course including a play area for young James). Drove into town, parked up (now theres a novelty...try doing that in London) and strolled around Sydney harbour. Its a lovely place with cafe's and boats buzzing with activity. Sydney Opera House was ...
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia rolls... Shawna and Kodi came down to join us for dinner so we made some pancakes for dessert. When we had finished eating, we decided to do some dancing and lifiting, as the girls are really light. At 7.30 dad returned from taking Linda to the aiport so we all headed down to watch Happy Feet on the beach. While we were walking there, a massive fireworks dispaly started on the beach so we stopped to watch them. They were so beautiful! Once the display had finished ...

Southport, Australia pinklaura123... I think it's hilarious, personally I think she should move in with him and I can have a room to myself again! haha! So Friday (09/11/07) after work, I grabbed a bottle of 'Pink' and headed to Char's for a few drinks before heading off to see The Killers!! We all sat on the balcony chatting and had a few drinks and then when Bendy (Brendan) turned up, we grabbed a cab and headed over to Boondall which is North of Brisbane, about 30 mins away. Once at Brisbane Entertainment ...
Coomera, Brisbane, Australia littlewiggleSo today was a nice lazy day! Out by the pool from 11-2:30ish, free sausage sizzle at the uni bar. Lots of awesome people, Australians are so relaxed and chill. Our break is coming up and everyones talking about these elaborate road trips, I wish I could go! One of my room mates invited me to head home with him, which is only 3 hours away in Stanthorpe. Its somewhere I've never been so I'm excited. It's inland and all my time in Oz has been on the coast so I'm excited to see ...
Southport, Australia guertinjSurfers Paradise looks a lot different than I had expected. It is a really built up city with huge high rises along the coast. Its a big party town, every night the hostel used organise a club crawl around town which were pretty mental. The highlight was a trip to Dreamworld, a huge theme park with fantastic rollercoasters and a zoo. The Australian version of Big Brother is also held there.
Surfers Paradise, Australia jimibakerWe were up early, because Bart wanted to get to the National Archives when they opened. Unfortunately we didn't get there until about 10. We couldn't find the 222 bus once we arrived in the city. No problem we took the train and walked over. We spent all day researching, we will be returning tomorrow, because they needed time to pull the documents for us. I meet a few Ladies that told us to go to the new State Library of ...
Cannon Hill, Australia rbartorillo... They are now building what will be the largest contemporary art gallery in Australia, for example. Queenslanders, if I am allowed the liberity to generalize, are pretty earthy, straightforward people. "Brother"/"Sister" is a common way to address a stranger. I know it might sound pretty naive to think this has much bearing on what it is to be a Queenslander, but I do think it does shape the way they see themselves and strangers.
Brisbane, Australia aarondewitt... its really kind of cool here. I work in Morton Bay backpackers hostel for accommodation. The hostel is really fun and everyone is around my age. The owner is big on water sports, so he takes everyone out at least once a week on his boat. Just a few days ago we went water skiing, wake boarding and mantaraying for free! The Mantaray is this inflatable device that sits one or two people. A boat pulls the inflatable mantaray at ridiculous speeds until its airborne. It fly's ...
Brisbane, Australia rtwryanAfter I had calmed down after my run in with some frogs, we decided to venture out of the magical lands of the Hobbit & try and find our hometown of Southport. It was a fantastic drive to the South, and our beast didn't let us down. 1500km into her ownership now, and not a wheel wrong so far... Some of the best roads in the world are here in Taz, and that's official (according to us ...
