After we finally got back to the hostel, we spent the rest of the day relaxing in our cabin and hanging out in the hostel bar. Lunch at the hotel where Australia with Nicole Kidman & Hugh Jackman was filmed. They also stayed there.

Onto Townsville.
Townsville is different, first time we have stayed in a high rise, perhaps the last, as the people above have been pacing up and down and must have moved every piece of furniture. Its just a stopping place for Magnetic Island, but considered the unofficial captital of north Queensland.

... little more. We woke up to an organised breakfast at the hostel that we had booked earlier, glad we did as it was a lovely spread and we had the chance to be one on one with the animals. ... to salt ocean water and they hated it! Went up to the lookout at Castle Hill which was great. Excellent 360 degree view of the city. Riverway pools and park. Stop #5: Lake Tinaroo
