... like a dance with high kicks and flourishes. We can't leave Athens without a little about the food. The breakfast buffet at the hotels is not the hard roll and coffee I remembered from years ago. Greek yogurt and honey as well as preserved spiced fruits are an option but also barley rusks with feta and fresh tomatoes .....we may go into withdrawal when we return to the US and do not have feta cheese twice a day. Also there were breads, cheeses,and lunch meats ...

After our week in Santorini, we spent one night in Athens before flying onto Rhodes. We visited the acropolis museum, acropolis, agora, and saw a few of the other city sights like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We stayed right by the archeological sites and the city center so we could make the most our of our short stay. But it was very, very hot, so we were happy to fly onto Rhodes. :-)

... don’t last long. An early night for all of us. The next day we drive west about 60km. We pass tse-tse flies hangouts and other animals like, giraffes, antelopes, warthogs and other grazers but we’re on a mission to find the migration. Fortunately 1 million wildebeest stand-out in the plains even when they’re stretched out. We find them quite easily, the herd of 1 million stretches over 20km long and 2km wide. Well we did it - everything was open today.

A bit colder this morning and lots of pollution around but a sunny day none the less.

Headed off early and lined up - rumor has it that there are often long cues. We were second in line so no drama there. What was nice about that was we got to follow the soldiers up to the very top of the mountain for the raising of the flag ceremony.

Took lots of photos - well worth the trip.
