St Marks square - The architecture is amazing and each building beautiful in it's own way. So many tourists packed in and wondering around taking in the beauty of the square.

... tower but it was completely worth it. And, it was the easiest "climb" we did our entire trip! Also, no line like at the St. Mark's bell tower…Best of all, the views from the bell tower were breathtaking. We spent a good amount of time up there, and probably would have stayed longer if the wind wasn't blowing so hard up there - the windy weather certainly did mess up my hair up!

After San Giorgio, we stopped by home and had lunch ...

Landed at Marco Polo airport at about 1.00 ish only to realise the taxi that Paoloa had booked wasn't coming until 2.40pm. More waiting at the airport - just what we all didn't need. Oh well just relax and take it easy. It's not the end of the world. We will get there - we may as well sit down and enjoy the espresso caffe on hand in ...

... Bridge, took a few wrong turns as is usual in Venice but finally made it. Enjoyed the vibe of the piazzas and campos along the way. So a few of the big ticket tourist areas were visited in the one day.

Had tea near the Rialto and then caught the vaporetto back home via the Grand Canal. For a travel day we accomplished plenty and enjoyed it - loved the train travel and Bianca especially is enjoying the boating around Venice.

    Day 9 Venice
Venice was a place we rediscovered by getting away from the main tourist area and taking a private wooden taxi out to the neighbouring island of Murano. Troy really enjoyed this day - a boat ride all to ourselves, a relaxed stroll along the canal of Murano ducking in and out of little shops to buy glass jewellery, a leisurely lunch right beside the water and a visit to the Murano glass museum. After a vaporetti ride back to the tourist centre, we visited ...
