... Somehow miraculously we ended up at the vegan gelato place again; I saw this as a sign, and duly ordered another! We decided to head towards the railway station, and sat in a little park nearby trying not to let the pigeons steal our treats. We found a little restaurant in one of the squares and ordered pizza for lunch – Italians eat pizza every day, right? We’re just fitting in! They have nice red orange juice here like they had at Hotel Italia, but could not match the coffee despite us trying several different options. 15/09/13. The first day was spent wandering around trying to find our way & avoid as many tourists as possible, which is pert near impossible unless you keep to the alleyways & away from San Marco Square or Rialto Bridge. The Square is chaotic with tourists & ...

... are not in a rush so it doesn't matter much. Then our tray arrives, looking very swish. We had asked for coffee with cream ( we meant pouring cream ) but we get half a cup of coffee with the other half topped up so high with whipped cream it looks like an ice cream cone. Oh well we could just scoop some of it out .
The cake is actually a coffee/chocolate semi fredo and it is delicious. Gary had actually asked the waiter twice for the wifi code ...
