      ... Basilica Di San Marco has been for almost a thousand years. It was quite a site to see a passing cruise ship dwarf the seafront buildings as it coasted past. Satisfied with our time in the floating city, we started back towards the bus station to continue on our tour of Italy. Before leaving I had just one item on my agenda.       Opening the front door I was not greeted by the usual smell of mustiness until you open up the windows, but a smell I couldn't be sure of. The mystery was soon solved when I went to the kitchen and the floor was soaking wet with broken glass every where. Not the relaxing end of our night we had expected, what could we do but clean up and laugh! No night cap for Phil!

      Woke up about 8 and got ready, went to the supermarket and got the shuttle to Venice at 10 and had a wander around, went over the Rialto bridge then headed to San Marco square, saw the bridge of sighs, then sat down for a bit by the river/canal, walked around some more then went to a cafe for a drink and say there chatting, found some ice cream, 3 scoops for €3 so had them sat outside ...
