    ... br> its art treasures quite thoroughly and used it as a base for day trips to the
    historic cities of the Veneto (Verona, Vicenza, Padua) and around the Venice
    Lagoon. Wow, it’s hard for me to believe that was all twelve years ago already;
    some of my recollections of the trip seem as if they were far more recent.

    I decided to include Venice in my itinerary on this trip for
    two or three days because it is on my way to Milan, and because ...

    Once we were done, we de-sanded ourselves and then walked back to the Lido boat terminal, which is directly opposite our hotel. From here we watched the sun go down over the lagoon before heading off to dinner at a local restaurant.

    Tomorrow will be a big day on the main Island. We visit lots of different places and also get to have a gondola ride...hope no one rocks the boat!

    ... canals are so beautiful and the shop windows have an amazing array of Murano glass, jewellery, gloves, handbags, carnival masks, shoes and plenty of sexy lingerie boutiques.

    Bought breakfast nom noms and had fun looking at all the weird food for sale in the supermarket then back up the 4 flights of stairs and fell into bed (separate beds - we may be sister wives but we're not *that* close). Goodnight Captain Casanova.

    ... grand square liked with Churches and museums. This was also by the grand canal, where we sat and watched the boats and water taxis power through the calm, aquamarine water. This was also a spot for the iconic gondolas.

    We took a water bus along the canal back to the hotel, which, due to the large amount of tourists, is not for the faint ...
