    Our vacation starts

Getting up at 3:00 am is not nice, but the highway to the airport was empty. Checking in with Air Berlin was a new experience, but not quite positively. All information that we had keyed in for the online check in was irrelevant, we had to give them the complete information again. Arriving in Düsseldorf was no problem, up in the air and back down again. We had a 2.5 hour layover so we were able to fill our stomachs with a decent breakfast. Air Berlin had another check ...

After some online reconnaissance we ventured into the city today for a look around. We drove to a local train station and had no trouble buying day passes from a vending machine for €6 each. ... Hans and Hendrik have an ov chip card. With one card, we manage to squeeze 3 people and 2 backpacks through the gate. Alarms go off, I expect a battalion policemen any moment, but nothing happens. Even the few people on the platform don't look up. Apparently this is normal. It's obvious I don't travel by train often.

In Hilversum we face the same problem. We have to go from platform 1 to platform 2, and for some obscure reason we have to pass a gate again. O tempora o ...

... First there was Stitch and Vincent. Stitch looked ******* tired but he was really nice to me. Asked me how I was etc. Vince just kinda looked at me weird and said hi xD I was gonna give them the brownies but they had their hands full since they were unloading.
Next there was Alex and Needles. They took forever to get there stuff from the van. But when they did, Alex was awesome :) Even though he looked even worse than I felt in the morning ...
