The hotel was OK- it appeared to have a lot of guests, but we were not crazy about our room. The hotel wasn’t terrible, but a series of small issues made is unpleasant for us. It was small, not that clean, paint was peeling off the wall, the toilet seat was cracked in half and the room had a window that faced on to the corridor of the hotel (so anyone walking by could see into the room if the curtains were open). Our group had decided to leave 30 mins before the other bus so we could get back earlier and get our Turkish bath done before dinner. We were up, had breakfast and left to drive to Petra at 7:30am. Only about a 5 min drive and we were there. Collected our tickets and started to walk in. Nasser has proved to be a great guide, super patient with us and very informative. ... where the kids would have slept. That's where they would have had dinner. etc) Plus, the view from the top was great. You could see quite a distance, including all the way to the monastery. The monastery is the building that most people go see with their free time. It was filled with tourists. The area we were in was less intricately carved, but we pretty much had it all to ourselves.
