Promptly arriving at 7am, the shuttle bus was filled with passengers anxious to get off the mainland and out into the small islands west of Viti Levu. Heavy, tropical rain fell all through the night. In my infinite wisdom I left both my towels and my swimming trunks out on the line. Even with the rain and the nets that we slept underneath, the mosquitoes still had a field day on my feet and ankles. I have a strange yearning for 7-Up. Seriously, this is what I thought when I woke up today. The past few days have been great. I have been able to snorkel out on Korolevu island, an island about 5 minute boat ride from Garden Island Resort which is surrounded by coral. Having only snorkeled lakes, this is a great change in scenery! I took pictures with a film underwater camera, we will see how they turn out. So maybe I was a little quick to judge Aquarius Fiji the other night. It isn't completely terrible but in comparing it to the other places I have been, it is nowhere close. Even for a hostel. We arrived at Nadi on Feb. 5th 2005. We stayed at teh Aquarius Hotel. It is in front of the ocean and has a very nice pool. We went for a walk on the main street at Nadi centre. Naviti is one of the biggest islands in the Yasawa group, but you wouldn't notice. it is almost as peaceful and quiet as the last two islands that we went to. The plane landed at around 8:30am following a fuel stop in Samoa. Arriving in Nadi, Viti Levu, as passengers we were greeted by a live quartet complete with ukelale (spelling?), flowers and guitars (the Bula song) - which was surprising so early in the morning.
