I like this hostel due to the activities and how social it is, very easy to get to know other people stating there. The only thing I'd say is the free breakfast could be better have more of a selection instead of just cereal

Great location only minutes from Independence park and close to subway stations to get about. Off Market and Chestnut streets so no particular noise issues.
The dorm was clean and well organised with free locker of moderate size. Free wifi and towels/linen. No breakfast. Quite a steep climb through narrow stairs to get to the top
Best part about this place was the awesome staff. Very helpful and friendly with advice on just about everything. Movie nights with beer if interested.
Only downers the bathrooms, a shower and 2 toilets were broken during my time, and the showers were subpar with bad pressure and a waterjet like that from a caravan.

A travel blog entry by emma.lynch16 on May 26, 2016

May 26th, Arrived in Phili early evening, got the metro to my hostel which was located just across from the bus station. It was only a couple stops to my hostel which was the "Apple hostel". The station wasn't far from the hostel either. Once there I checked in and the guy at the desk was really nice he told me everything I need to know and said …

Plane took off on time and flight went fairly quickly, they gave us ice cream! Landed at Newark airport and then took the skyrail to the train station. We boarded our train and did the 1 hour trip to Philadelphia! I then made a right fool of myself at the metro station, forgot how to use an elevator, then confused the lady at the ticket office and …

          A review of Hampton Inn

Location was okay and no more but worked for us. The hotel has an expansive parking lot and shuttle. The staff at the Hampton Inn was sociable and quite useful with their recommendations on where to go in Philadelphia. Turning over the rate we paid we were not expecting to be that pleased. The place is most recommended
