I stayed in Adelaide for almost 1 month. I was not expecting it, but then again, I wasn't really planning anything! Matt and I booked for a couple of days at Annie's Place...curiously, the street name is "Franklin Street", the same as the hostel I was staying at in Melbourne!!! The hostel is in the city center, but not in the busiest and noisiest …
My wasn't Adelaide chilly? The temperatures dropped down to 16 degrees and after being in at least 20 degree heat for the past two and a half months, we certainly felt rather cold indeed, and weren't happy to have to dig out the trousers and sweatshirts.
Adelaide is smaller than the other capital cities we have visited (other than Darwin) …
Sunday was our only full day in Adelaide. We spent the morning wandering around the city and then went to one of Sharon's old friends (from New Look) Pippa's house for dinner.
It was good to catch-up with her and her husband. It was also a pleasure to meet William their 19 month old son, who enjoyed playing with Ben's beer and Sharon's shoes.
Our final day in Brisbane. We had to check-out of the luxurious hotel Petchey. Obviously we filled our bags with as many freebies as possible ;-)
Karen & Will took us up to Mount Coot-tha for lunch. From up here there were spectacular views over the whole of Brisbane.
After lunch we went straight to the airport and on to …
After an Amazing day around the Barossa Valley yesterday, today was to see the rest of the City on Adelaide which they call the City of Churches. First I jumped on a tram and was taken into town the following - South Australia Museum - Art Gallery of South Australia - Bradman Collection (Bradman Museum) - Dockside (Port of Adelaide) - Adelaide Oval …
How has this hostel rated in the past?
I stayed for almost 1 month in Adelaide, and for the whole time at Annie's Place. I found a great atmosphere in this hostel, it's the right size, in the city center, awesome staff and very cozy...the closest it could get to being home! I really met great people and had a lot of fun, but also had the possibility to just sit back and relax. Most of the time they had music playing, but it was always the right kind at the right moment. If at some point of my trip I decide to spend some more time in Adelaide, I'll definitely go back to Annie's Place!
