We arrived in Mendoza at around midday, following around 20 hours of buses (but, the best buses ever! Excellent dinner, comfortable seats, warm, and super punctual!). After finding what appears to be an excellent hostel, we met some friendly New Zealanders - Luke, Dan, Mel and Rochelle - before heading out to explore the town. ... went on to visit an olive oil factory where we again had a guided tour and tasting, and then to a chocolate shop followed by a beer. By that time were were completely stuffed and tired. It was a short ride back to the car and then the hostel. I met another kiwi when we made it back to the hostel. The first Kiwi backpacker I have seen so far. I sat around with a few of the other guests at the hostel getting travel tips before heading up to bed.
