... and I nodded a greeting. As soon as they passed, my mind was made up- run! I was hoping they had come from some road that led out, so I started a quick jog down the dirt road in the direction they had come from. I jogged for about 10 minutes, praying for the site of greenery, eventually coming upon a deserted structure that I could identify on the map. Finally, a landmark! The only problem, I was supposed to be on the opposite side of this structure, boy was ...

We confidently spoke our broken French/Spanish/English with lots of mime and pointing. The waiter smiled, nodded and, we thought, copied our gestures. Did you know we can now order THE most wonderful Irish coffee in Spanish? Don't know how we did it but sure hope we can repeat our performance. Another thing we can't ...

... is still a spritely 28 he went into town with folk from the hostel while I zonked out. We took a wander around the city the next morning and stumbled into a massive protest outside the city hall. We think it was something to do with wine farming since there was a road block of old tractors and the word 'vino' on most of the banners. The ol' Spanish is coming on you can see. The city was lovely to wander around with lots of little plazas and small enough to see most ...
