... We spent the afternoon touring a gold mining dredge, panning for gold, etc also owned by Holland America. That night Rob and I did a flight up into the Artic Circle. We had a beautiful clear night with great views over many miles of tundra. We flew to Fort Yukon, an Athabascan village up there. We made one last stop through Glitter Gulch for last minute shopping and then headed to the park for one last visit. On our last day, back in Anchorage, we took a tour around the city,
rented a car and drove along the seward scenic hwy, visiting the Alaska
Wildlife Conservation Center. This is a wildlife refuge for the animals
native to alaska that for one reason or another cannot be returned to
the wild, so they make this their home. I have to say this ...
