Arriving in bustling Cusco with packs that are still too heavy (learning to be lightweight travellers) and tired after 21 hours on the bus this sunny, friendly and extremely clean hostel was a wonderful destination. It is very safe, breakfast is generous and fresh, the cleaning truly exemplary to above and beyond. It has a lovely sunny courtyard where the children can do their schoolwork, and mate de coca available all the time- a great help to our acclimatizing bodies. I would highly recommend it!

Arrival to Cusco
After an uneventful flight to Cuzco, we are picked up by our driver and taken to our Hostel. It is a real cool town at almost 11,000 feet of elevation (we feel it). The doorways are small in our hostel (maybe 4.5 feet high). My buddy Steve is 6 feet 5 inches and I am 6 feet 3 inches tall. We look funny ducking into our room, but it is ok for $ …

In Cusco-soroche blues (just a bit though)
OK so here we are in Cusco after 21 hours of first desert and ocean views, then dark, then beautiful slow and windy bus ride. We had cushy seats, movies (?!) and a bit of unhappy stomachs, especially the oldest of us, who tried unsuccessfully and more than once to rid herself of the lining of her stomach whilst holding on to the handle in the wee …
Quiet Day
I mostly wanted to say Thanks!! to all for your comments and well wishes! They are wonderful little touches from friends we cherish! We are having a quiet day of schoolwork and resting. Hannah has a bit of a cold, so is resting (though got through 2 chapters of math this morning Mr. Carter!!). Gryphon is not able to access his online stuff today so …
