    It's 10.03 and we've been on the road for about 3 and a half hours! It was an early start, with shower at 5.15, breakfast at 6, bags in the truck before 6.30 and leave! We had to leave so early as it's about an 11 hours drive and we needed to get out of Rio before the traffic began to build up. I was amazed how many people were around - you could forget that it was before 7am, it was as busy as if it was mid morning! We had a little detour around ...

    ... place is honestly beautiful, filled with wacky wall art and street sellers. If you are ever in Brazil, I could not recommend Santa Teresa more as it is completely stunning and relatively unknown to most tourists!
    Here we found the most incredible tiled steps, with different tiles donated from around the world, and people playing Brazilian tunes on some crazy instruments.

    It was then back to our cute little abode, for some last sun and a farewell.

    ... Thankfully our pilot did this and we got amazing views over Sugarloaf, Copacabana and Ipenema as we said good bye to Rio. The usual stopover in Sao Paolo (at least a different airport this time – Campinas) and we landed in Curitiba.
