    Stay somewhere else

I thought this hostel looked like a prison. I am not sure if you would find much better elsewhere in Alice Springs. I found the place depressing and I was sad I had already booked it and had to stay there again after returning from my Uluru tour. I would have given them two stars, but I had to drop it to one because the night I returned from my tour the hostel was hosting their Christmas party and I wasn't able to check in. They had left a phone number on the door to ask for Roger. When I tried to call it, (and I had to go into town get change and use a payphone) I only got Rogers voicemail. I followed people into the hostel (not very safe!) and used their "emergency phone" which also went straight to Roger's voicemail. Not good if you really have an emergency! At least they came by an hour and a half after I arrived and I was able to check in. I would recommend people try another hostel.

    Nice staff, good movie setup

I was impressed with the big movie screen they have in the courtyard. We watched a few movies outside and got to meet a few other travellers while we were there. The staff helped plan my trip out to Uluru. There's not a lot happening in Alice Springs, so I wouldn't plan on spending more than a night or two here.

Our day started with a tasty buffet full cooked breakfast at the hotel, well it would have been rude not too seeing as they'd gone to all the trouble of preparing it...!!! We are picked up at 08:25 by our guides Macca & G for a tour around the West MacDonnell Ranges. First place we visit is Anzac Hill to see the WWII Memorial and get a 360 …

Wait, I didn't think I was supposed to be back in Arizona until February. Fast forward a bit though because this place is as hot as Phoenix at the end of May. It looks like Arizona and it feels like Arizona. My very posh flight from Cairns to Alice Springs only had about 15 people on a 120 person plane. That should have been a hint. My hostel, well …
