Not bad. The first 2 nights I was in a 10 bed mixed dorm. Third night (after my sailing trip) I was in an 8 bed female dorm which was much bigger and brighter with an ocean view, but same price as the previous dorm. Full of Europeans. Europeans with tans. Very echoey stairwells and you can always hear the door slamming. Friendly staff.

Extremely friendly staff and lovely people in my dorm. The hostel was right on the water - aptly named - and even had a roof terrace

Overall I was really happy with my stay at this hostel. Reception was exceptionally accommodating when I wanted to change rooms, store luggage and book a tour. AND you get a free nights stay by booking thru them!

The Whisundays Coast, a Paradise between Brisbane and Cairns. You can find quite cheap flights from Brisbane with JetStar airlines. There are two airports: Proserpine and Hamilton Island. If you have a small Budget better stay at Airlie Beach, a crowded party town where you can find cheap accomodation (lots of hostels), fast food restaurants and …

Waar oh waar moesten we nu naartoe?! Aangezien …

The Whitsundays conjure up images of platinum beaches and crystal clear water. Any trip to these islands should not disappoint.

I had arranged a two tank dive trip to head out from Airlie beach with a stop over at Whitehaven Beach. As we land at Whitsunday Island we make our way to shore and we clamber over the top. No boats are …

    • From reading Lonely Planet, I was expecting this place to be like Patong or Tonsai beaches, and so I was pleasantly surprised! No tour/ticket touts, just lots of tour agencies. No girls being sick in the gutter. No fights. No drunken behaviour all over the street. Small, not much to do, but a lagoon, shops, bars, restaurants and beach are …

Who comes halfway around the world and still doesn't escape the rain? Fraser Island has lived through a six month rain hiatus and yet we were the 'lucky' ones who managed to experience it during a flood. What are the bloody chances. We were picked up bright and early from our Hervey Bay accommodation on Tuesday, hopped on the ferry over to Fraser, …
