big living area, nice pool. Enough place in the dorm. But have not a double look at some places.

It is kind of close to the beach but overall old and fairly uninviting.

Took the all night bus to get here so I was ready for sleep...they put me right in my room at 7:30AM and I caught a nap...that was great. Lots of people that stay here have tours on the Whitsundays and this is a very convenient place for meeting buses, storage and the folks are so friendly!

This was a very easy place to get to when dropped off by the Greyhound bus. It was right on the main strip and close to all the restaurants, bars and shops that you need. About a 10 minute walk to the lagoon.

          Airlie Beach..

So sorry for not writing the last couple of days but we really haven't done anything except driving. We drove from Noosa to 1770 which is pretty much the last stop on the east coast where you can surf. Afterwards the Great Barrier Reef starts and there are no waves and you are constantly in danger of chellyfishs. So we thought it would be nice to …

Airlie Beach is the steriotypical touristy spot with great bars, restaurants and beaches and the gateway to the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. We stayed around Airlie Beach for a couple of days before heading out to the islands.

We didn't get up to much there except enjoy the gorgeous food, go for a stroll along the boardwalk to the marina …

After spending another 13hours trying to sleep on the greyhound coach we arrived at Airlie beach about 1030 am. Needless to say we were both a little tired and ratty but perked up as we drove into the town in awe of the views around us. The town is surrounded by national parks and rainforest inland and reef islands out to sea. The numerous marinas …
