I would highly recommend Agora Guesthouse for your stay in Istanbul.

The hostel is clean, dorm rooms large and the staff extremely helpful and personable.

The free breakfast included was buffet style and had a decent amount to choose from and I really enjoyed the rooftop balcony to chill out on.

Agora is located a short 3 minute walk from the main street lined with restaurants so you don't have the noise at night but you do have the proximity. The Blue Mosque, Topkapi and Sofya are also within a 5 minute walk from the hostel.

If I returned to Istanbul I would definately stay at Agora. Great value for money.

This hostel is super clean, has very great and friendly staff, awsome terasse with great views, really nice breakfast and a lot of backpackers.

Also, speedy wifi everywhere is a nice touch!

Seriously, I cannot find anything wrong about the place.

I realized as I read the title that this is not going to be one of those witty blogs. Well, first day. The flight was as bad as can be expected. Babies crying, cramped seats, terrible food. In addition, there was a medical emergency on board with a elderly man feeling nauseous. After I saw the response, I would definitely want to avoid having any …

... one of my favourites. A mixture of zucchini eps stuffed with mince meat and spices and rolled chard rolls stuffed with same meat mixture. These were cooked together with lots of tomato and the insides of the zucchini. Much better than I expected particularly the zucchini. And finally dried (but soaked and cooked in cloves and water) apricots stuffed with clotted cream and dipped in ground pistachio. Very nice way to finish off the meal. We also had a light local red wine. Selin also ...
