Bellingen
Myself, Lenn and Sam set off from Sydney on Monday morning with the intention of getting to Bellingen as our first stop, although this was quite a distance so we thought we may have to stop on the way. After about 7 hours of driving the light was fading so we decided to stop in Port Macquarie for the night. We checked into the YHA and set off into …
My first Australian beach
I like Adelaide! I was glad to leave Perth following the incidents in my dorm (there was more I haven't bored you all with) and the rain each day. I had checked into a YHA where I was going to be in a girls only room, which no offense boys I prefer sharing rooms with random girls to random men. So the YHA turned out to be like a palace and this …
Adelaide
Left Perth a 13.40 to fly down to Adelaide after a great time with rob his family and friends. Arrived in Adelaide at 7pm due to the two and half hour add on from Perth time which makes it 10 hours ahead of Greenwich mean time. I caught the bus down to the City center to the YHA where I was staying for a week. I was feeling nervous before walking …
Could it BE any colder in the South?
NORSK LENGER NED!
As much as I liked the outback and the red center, it was time to leave. I could have been adventurous like Svenja who put a note on Gumtree and got a ride with other travellers in their car. But miles and miles in a car driving past a whole lot of nothingness did not tempt me anymore. Besides, I was on a time schedule. I …
The start of an amazing experience! Adelaide-Quorn
Today started my outback safari trip from Adelaide to Alice springs! It was an 8 day 7 night trip and it all started in Adelaide--another beautiful city in Australia! My flight left at 7 a.m. and the airport is about an hour from my house here in Tassie so if you put that all together I would basically have to leave around 4:30 to get there on time …

First stayed here in 2001 on a big trip I didn't organise, but liked it. Returned in 2008 as a backpacker - arrived with friends, left with even more. YHAs can be a bit institutional, but this one was fun and friendly - on my last night we cooked dinner for 16!
