... although have missed little Maddy May. Maddy herself has done very little in Adelaide as she was happy to just chill out in the van catching up on some TV, reading, pampering and a few little chores. We had planned on going up Mt. Lofty for a hike early in the morning before it got hot, but both of us slept in and regretted it. It was at least 35 degrees by the time we got there. The path goes pretty much straight up at a 45 degree angle during the entire 4 km trek, and I ran out of water way before we got to the summit. The path leads through some really nice gum tree forests, and a "bog" which is dried up, and past a small waterfall. ...

... park was short, our trip from McLaren Vale to Brownhill Creek was shorter, only 39.9km. Brownhill Creek is 6.5 km from Adelaide City and easy access to Adelaide Airport. Once we set up it was time to put the Aussie flags up, ready for Australia Day.

... t take long but it was distressing to see how much damage had been done in just the small area we were passing through - the landscape was scorched and goodness knows how many animals had died. Not an easy part of the world to live in and the firefighters do an incredible job trying to keep people and livestock safe.
