Arrival in Dublin
Jan 10, 2008 (2 photos)

We arrived in Dublin by bus. Being a little thrown off from a restless night, we laid across the back seats and slept most of the way. The bus driver's here though are a little more assertive then perhaps they are in Canada. A number of times I was thrown straight clear of the seat. Of the little scenery I remained awake to see, I could not help...

Fighting Irish
Jun 11, 2008 (38 photos)

We got into Dublin on Tuesday and found our hostel. The hostel was really nice we had a four bedroom room all to ourselves. We dropped off our stuff and headed out. We walked down O'Connell street which is named after the man who brought rights to Roman Catholics in Ireland. It had a lot of shops and restaurants on it and was always fairly busy....

Well, here we are, finally after the hours on the plane, finally in Dublin. What a nice city. A lot different to what i expected but great all the same. Day 3 Dublin This morning we took a walk around Dublin city, saw a few monuments, did the photo, touristy thing. We then went to Trinity College, which is the oldest university in Ireland. Here we saw the Book of Kells, amongst other old books. These books were amazingly hand written thousands of years ago using feathers for pens, and different ...

Guiness Guiness and more Guiness

Entry 4 of a trip titled: British Isles and Western-ish Europe.

I decided to take a month of my life and fulfill my dreams of traveling around the world. Since i do not have the financial abilities to take a long time off work and travel, i have broken up "the world" into smaller, more pocket book friendly sections. My first trip was the the UK, Ireland and France.

Rain, rain....
Jul 10, 2008

I arrived safe but tired... I haphazardly found my hostel with my map but at first finding street names was a problem. Now my eyes can pick out the blue signs against the stone buildings! I walked a bit, crossed the Ha'Penny Bridge and through Temple Bar to the flood of tourists on Grafton. Found a park to sit in (St Stephen's) and heard free li...

Last Call Dublin

We, I've been using we alot. So M&M took a train from Trier towards Dusseldorf for our 8 pm flight to Dublin. It was a long day, but we did have a nice train ride along the scenic Mosel River and sat at Starbucks for awhile before we could check in for our flight. We got on the plane at about 8:30 and took off. Marie didn't do so well, she w...
